This looks like a good and sturdy BP monitor with consistent readings. The other good thing is it works on my mobile type c cable and charger, normally BP monitor drains lots of batteries. Coming to functionality part my previous BP monitor would show a variance of 10 points in 2 mins span, this is the first thing I checked for. There is no such variance and the readings are almost same as my clinically recorded BP. I’ve tabulated my BP at morning, afternoon, evening and night. It’s a good one and worth buying as there is no compromise in health.
The unit and all parts came in a cardboard box. There is an extensive instruction booklet included and I recommend reading. I followed the instructions for placement of the cuff and got a reading the first try. The unit appears to be well made. The cuff is pretty large and I have a small arm, but it worked. The electronics are a little complicated. The default has the unit speak the results (loudly). This can be turned off, instructions are in the booklet. Also, it can remember readings for 2 different people. Data can be deleted - again instructions are in the book. You can ignore all of this and just push the on and off button and it will take a measurement.I tried it a couple times and the measurements were close. To test accuracy you would need to take it to a dr's office to compare. I think this is good to see if numbers are rising or falling.I appreciate that batteries were included. No usb c cable, but I have plenty of those around.Wishlist - I wish the bag was a little bigger. Getting the battery door off was awkward. I found holding the unit and using both thumbs made it easier. The monitor is $27.99 at this writing. It seems like a fair price to provide a way to monitor changes at home.I'm actually glad this isn't connected to the internet. It seems like old-school tech. It works. No judgement.
Vine Customer Review of ASIN # B0FW5QGMCPMy heavy, clunky old blood pressure unit for home monitoring runs only on batteries. I wanted consider the benefits of this SimpliCare blood pressure monitor that incorporates newer technology.FEATURES and FUNCTIONSAlong with the monitor, cuff, four batteries and a fabric storage bag, there is a well-illustrated user guide to prepare for taking a blood pressure reading and a pulse level. Weighing 9.7 ounces, this monitor is about a third lighter than my old one, making it better for storage or portability. An auto power-down feature will turn the unit off if no use is detected after 60 seconds.Surrounding the START/STOP button, the Set button on the left — and the MEM button on the right provide additional functionality, either individually or in combination. For example, the unit saves the recording results, date and time of each reading. After the three or more readings, the “Recall” feature can be used to display these. If necessary, there’s also an option to delete all results stored in memory.EXPERIENCEThe unit was fully charged after inserting the four included batteries in the battery compartment and closing the cover. The images and markings on the cuff were helpful both for correct placement and securing it on my arm.My blood pressure and pulse results on this SimpliCare unit were almost identical with those on my old one; [SimpliCare, 125/72, Pulse 80] and [Old unit, 127/74, Pulse 81], providing confidence in the consistency of the new SimpliCare reading.NOTES—The monitor can also be powered for each use — but not charged for later use — using your own USB-C cable and a DC 5V / 2.1A charger.—After struggling to open the battery cover with my hands and fingers, I placed a flat, rubber jar opener on it to more easily turn and remove it. Perhaps a different grip design would make it easier for seniors, or those with hand issues such as arthritis or carpal tunnel to open and close the compartment.—A second, taller storage bag with a different design — presumably for the cuff — is shown in an image in the product listing, but was not included in the box I received. So, when not in use and when traveling, consumers might consider storing the cuff in a way that it can't catch on or snag any other fabric nearby.
It is a solid unit unlike cheap ones, bought it and later compared my BO with Costco center and it was almost the same 133/89. Works flawlessly and I use my iPhone cable to power it on instead of batteries. Works good.
I am a school nurse and having a reliable blood pressure monitor that is quick and efficient on hand is vital. I liked this monitor because it didn't break the bank. I find $28 to be reasonable for an automated monitor that is clinically validated, has audible voice function, included the 4 AAA batteries, and a protective storage bag. Note that you are able to power the monitor via USB-C instead of using batteries but the cable is not included. I find that when working with children, however, that the less cables involved the better. So what I do is use rechargeable amazon batteries. Otherwise, buying so many batteries after a while will definitely break the bank. Using the rechargeable batteries is a life saver, but if in a pinch I can certainly use the USB-C as a back up. As a nurse, clinically validated is of great importance and I was glad this monitor was. Nonetheless, I doubled checked results comparing to results using my own manual blood pressure cuff and stethoscope and this monitor was on point with accuracy. The monitor is very easy to set up and use. Because I work with children I did have to separately get a smaller cuff, but that was no issue. The monitor easily accepted a universal small size cuff and it worked as well as it did with its original xl cuff. The original xl cuff it came with I was able to use for myself and for school staff ranging from medium to xl so cuff gave me versatility. The monitor has a cuff self detecting function too, which is a plus when working with children who sometimes dont sit too still. The voice function is loud and clear. The led light reading is big and bright. Aside from taking blood pressure it also reads pulse, which is another great asset for me. The monitor recalls up to 90 measurements. So I can always go back if I forget to document a reading. Overall excellent monitor for my needs.
